La Villa Saint-Germain Hotel is housed in 4-storey, 1920s-style building, which has no balconies and is fairly unremarkable from the outside. However the plain exterior belies the chic, minimalist, Oriental-style interior. The lobby is appointed in dark tones and its angular lines are softened by artful designer lighting and bouquets of flowers. The décor in the 32 guestrooms forsakes primary colours for more elegant browns, burgundies and purples. All are clean and well equipped, as are the en suite bathrooms, which feature polished chrome basins and mirrors and opaque glass sinks. A particularly unusual feature of the rooms is the room number projected onto the door of each one. Enhanced by Bauhaus-style furniture, the public areas include a relaxing bar, which offers a variety of whiskeys and cocktails.
