The Victoria Hotel has been a landmark on the Left Bank since 1913 and served as Parisian home to such major figures as the Irish writer James Joyce and the Italian painter Giorgio De Chirico. It is housed in an impressive 6-storey building with an ornate white façade adorned with some balconies. The public spaces are appointed in an opulent Louis XVI style, with marble floors, as well as red carpets, fabrics and draped curtains. In the main lounge these features are complemented by vivid portraits, statues and traditional furniture. The hotel boasts 62 spacious and luxurious guestrooms. Though less richly decorated than the public areas, they feature patterned wallpaper, thick carpets and dark wood furniture, creating a warm atmosphere. The hotel offers a Continental style buffet every morning in its welcoming breakfast room.
