We were given a terrible room on the first night..off a tiny courtyard, dark, cramped, tiny narrow wardrobe no drawers etc. There was a window but we did not want to leave it open all night as we felt vulnerable. There was nowhere to put our bags. Desk clerk said we could not change rooms even though we were booked in for five nights. The room was stifling and we hardly slept all night. We had to create a terrible fuss before being given another room the next day. The room we were moved to was much better , bright and had windows we could open...though still lacking drawers. If you book into this hotel...which is very close to a Metro station and good bus routes, you must insist on having a room on the first to the fifth floors. Not in the courtyard or on the ground floor. That is room numbers 1-6. We would not recommend paying the full amount in advance as we did because we would have had to move hotels if they had not changed our room. We also asked to leave our bags as our flight was in the evening. We were shocked to be charged 2 Euros per bag They were not kept in a secure place, just left in the dining room. The desk clerks were not helpful and a couple were quite surly. The ladies serving the breakfast were nice.

Montparnasse Cemetery is on the doorstep ansd is worth a visit. Get a guide from the entrance and plan your route rather than just wandering at random...it can take hours. There are good restaurants on Blv. Montparnasse.

quiet street, yet short walk to restaurants, metro, Luxemburg gardens - breakfast adequate, but coffee could be better and bread/croissants could be fresher.

Luxemburg gardens so close and lovely - restaurant round corner on Monparnasse, next to La Coupole, had 18 euro 3 course meal with wine/beer etc - ex value and quality.

What a great find! I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel - great location near the metro, clean, bright and spacious and an easy walk into the heart of Paris - great value for money. The breakfast was really nice and in a beautiful underground cellar.

Close to Palais du Luxembourg and the Sorbonne, so lots to look at locally. An easy walk into Paris central, or even better, a short stroll to the metro. Lots of great eating places near by and surprisingly affordable dining.
Be aware that check in is 1.30pm at the absolute earliest and as late as 2pm, though they will hold your bags if you arrive earlier. I have already recommended it to friends and will certainly return.

Small room but adequate if you want to be out all day. Shower head in room 24 not secured by holder on wall so had to be hand-held. I should have reported it but I felt I'd be wasting my breath.

Convenient for metro. Easy and pleasant walk through Luxembourg Quartier and St Germain to Seine, with interesting things to see en route.
Plenty of restaurants large and small.

The hotel has scaffolding out the front so if you are going for a romantic weekend I would advise against. Rooms were pretty basic too.
